Iraq War
She supports the war in Iraq. When asked about extending the stay of the Alaskan National Guard already deployed to Iraq she responded, "I would certainly have to encourage Don Rumsfeld to please look elsewhere when you consider the sacrifices already made." This atrocity of this war has been a completely unneccesary and tragic burden on all of us. Apparently Sarah Palin thinks it hits Alaska harder than other states. I'll bet that pleases the families of the 450 or so families in California who have lost loved ones, or the families of the 189 soldiers from Pennsylvania. She says she wants a timetable for the troops removal from Iraq. Don't we all. How about we do something crazy and actually bring them home. And then there's the added benefit of having an extra $160 billion annually to spend here at home. Possibly on our education system, maybe health care, or many of the other domestic issues we struggle with back here in America everyday. No, politics matter more than lives. She states she wants a timetable for the war to end yet she "supports President Bush's efforts to stop terrorism by taking the fight to the terrorists." While it's a little late to change the fact that we invaded an unprovoked sovereign nation, it's not too late to end it, and focus our efforts at home where we desperately need to... immediately.
